Death to Big Top - Long Live CultureFlux!

Big Top Magazine is Changing Has Changed Its Name!

Wow. It has happened. After months of considering it, watching the way Big Top was growing, who I want the magazine to appeal to, how I wanted it to look when it finally (somehow) hits the stands - and a hundred other things (such as the work involved in changing everything on the interweb from Big Top), the decision was made. It was far from an easy one, but ultimately I found it necessary, and hell - it just felt like the thing to do.

Though I must admit I feel a bit dopey having my name in the title of the magazine, it was the name that you, the people who voted chose - so I guess that I feel a little less like a big goofball.

This is a thrilling new time for Big... I mean CultureFlux Magazine, as things are surpassing what I dreamed when I first started it just 18 months ago on Beltane - May 1st - and it continues to grow like mad - but don't worry, it will still be the magazine you have grown to love - just a lot more of it!

Welcome to a new era for my humble little dream, my friends; I hope that in some way this inspires you to follow yours.

Thank you all so incredibly much for your encouragement and support - and please, keep it coming! Advertise, donate, send me some love - anything and everything helps, and gets me through those inevitable times that happen during the birth of something amazing where I wonder what the hell I got myself into.

Mad, crazy, beautiful love to all of you,

~ kSea

Out of the 4 I like the Culture Flux idea too.

But it seems like something
is missing. The magazine has more of an alternative performer ideal than
alternative culture feel. Performers who show off their Steam Punk, Victorian,
Firebreathing, Circus freak, large scale art, or even SCA should be drawn to the
name as a source to show off their art or advertise their skills and style.

Excellent point, Razor. Crap. Hmmm.... brain is on strike right now.

but very
good point.

Hey KSea, I like your name:
Culture Flux Magazine. Why ? Because Culture ,
however one defines it , is always in Flux, it flows and twists and
changes with the times and regions it moves through. Also it does relate to
your name, so it has a double bond to what it's about. I'm looking
forward to more SteamPunk, I'm so ready to get totally into it, I just
joined the SteamPunk group on Suicide Girls, which I've just
recently returned to. I want to tout your mag there, if that's cool
with you. Lots of exposure to be had amongst all sorts of people, many from
San Francisco area.
Keep up the Great Work.

Thank you so much for your comment and input - I appreciate it very much - and
HELLS yes, I would love the exposure in SG!

So far I have two votes for Culture
Flux Magazine, none for anything else - one from you, and one from a very
trusted, no BS friend... it's leaning that way.

Thanks again!
